Welcome to The Shot! I'm Katie and I did something I thought I'd never do. I quit my job suddenly to follow my life long dream. In other words, I did what pretty much everyone tells you not to do. You can read more about that decision in my first entries, Sixteen Weeks & Bye, Teach. Shooting my shot has been a wild, scary, and rewarding ride and I'm here to tell you all about it.

After several years working education, I came to realize there was another calling, another burning question I had to seek answers to. I decided to dedicate my life to my other passions: writing, family, real estate, and bettering the world in other ways.

I am a writer based in Houston, Texas. I currently write for HoustonOnTheCheap.Com as well as Houston Mom's Blog. I am also a Licensed Real Estate Agent and I work with my husband as the Victor Home Sales Group listing agent, social media queen, and all around administrator. You can check us out at The Cut.

 I dig Houston and on any given day, you can find my huge family and I thrifting,exploring the great outdoors, visiting Houston's Museum District, or trying the newest foodie trend. Our family is in love with getting fit, minimalism, financial health, the arts, travel, baseball, and self improvement.
